The Rooms

The 5 rooms of Tenuta Monticelli are designed for total relaxation.

Located on the ground floor, each with an independent private patio in the green, and on the first floor with a panoramic terrace and one with a jacuzzi pool, they all boast beautiful white walls, light grey painted wood doors and windows, granite flooring, handcrafted furniture, wrought-iron or canopy beds, large glass mosaic bathrooms, a white pickled wood harbour.

The bio-relais offers elegancy and intimacy at the same time, by respecting the simple and authentic design of the original farmhouse.

Holiday in Salento?

Our guests

Sea lovers

For sea lovers there is available a full plan of activities for a completely unforgettable experience during your stay: from diving to kite surfing, from fishing to boat excursions or visit to the caves. Certainly, you cannot miss exploring the attractive Gallipoli fortress town on board a sailing ship or the small St. Andrea Island on board a retro yacht.

Just 1 mile away from Gallipoli with a tall lighthouse dated back to 19th century and surrounded by hundreds of Audouin’s gulls, St. Andrea Island is a must-see of the area. The island is accessible only with a tourist guide since it is in the protected area of Regional Nature Park characterized by lush Mediterranean vegetation, rare plant species and traces of the Neolithic. Salento in Barca organizes several boat tours to the island. Once on shore, Maurizio Manna of Legambiente will entertain your tour with stories and legends about this place. Another must-do is the grotto’s tour organized by Grotte in tour, departing from Torre Vado.

An interesting sea tour to discover the Ionian Karsic caves from San Gregorio to Santa Maria di Leuca, such as Grotta delle Tre Porte (The Three Doors Cave) and Grotta del Drago (Dragon’s Cave). The tour continues on to the Mannute Cave on the Adriatic Sea, on the opposite coast side.

Art Lovers

Apulia offers many opportunities for the art and cultural tourism lovers.

In Tuglie you can visit the The Radio Museum, an extraordinarily fascinating journey through the hectic world and history of radio broadcasting, with a collection of more than a hundred objects of great value. Just to mention one, the Edison automatic telegraph transmitter(1893). In Casarano, one of oldest Christian sites, the Church of Santa Maria della Croce is an art treasure with its Early Christian mosaics and ancient byzantine and gothic frescos of great value. Of particular interest is the Crypt of the Crucifixion in Ugento, a small rocky church whose entrance is topped by a lunette and containing frescos and paintings dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries.

And still, Specchia and Presicce, considered among the most beautiful villages of Italy, are rich of historical palaces, courtyard houses and historical underground oil mills; caves once used to produce olive oil.
